Description
Hypermotard V2 SP 100 translates the most extreme Ducati racing instinct into a vision shaped by the 1975 860 “24 Horas de Montjuïc”, combining contemporary fun-bike attitude with the iconic endurance that represented an important racing season for the Bolognese manufacturer. Hypermotard V2 SP 100
Hypermotard V2 SP 100 is a bike that thrives on immediate reactions and instinctive control. Lightweight, clean, and built to amplify the rider’s input, the riding is all about precision and pure enjoyment. With its V2 twin engine, this bike embodies the essence of extreme riding, integrating benchmark performance with an aggressive design and cutting-edge technology. With this special edition, it enters Collezione100 as a modern expression of authentic racing spirit, born in the endurance world and translated today with direct, contemporary language. Ducati 860
Following on from the 1972 Imola 200 victory, Ducati management decided that the most effective way to grow the brand’s appeal was through production-based race bikes, which would compete particularly in endurance races. To this end, Ducati needed to expand its range of twins with an engine larger than the classic 750, which could withstand the stress of long endurance races like the Bol D’Or or 24 Horas de Montjuic, a race that the Borgo Panigale manufacturer won on several occasions. The Ducati 860 enjoyed immediate successful in 1973 with the Ducati 860 Desmo prototype, which would become the Ducati 900 Super Sport in its production version. Riders Salvador Canellas and Benjamin “Min” Grau, who had already triumphed with the Bologna twin in 1973, repeated the feat in the 1975 edition of the Catalonian race, but with the bold colours of Nepoti and Caracchi’s NCR team. The lines of Hypermotard V2 SP 100 are clean and aggressive. The graphic elements converse with history without a trace of nostalgia, transforming a reference to the endurance racing spirit into a contemporary aesthetic. A livery that underlines the bike’s instinctive character, connecting today’s fun-bike attitude with the tradition of long, arduous, authentic races, an integral part of Ducati’s sporting history. Billet aluminium steering head and brackets with a riveted plate bearing the bike name and sequential number in Centenary Bronze, Front brake callipers in Centenary Bronze, Ducati logo designed by Giugiaro on the tank, Dry clutch with carbon cover, Alcantara seat with embroidered Centenary logo.
