The NX500’s comfortable seating position and tall windscreen combined with inverted Showa SFF-BP forks, dual disk front brakes with standard ABS and an Assist Slipper Clutch makes the Honda NX500 a motorcycle ready for anything from a quick commute to a long day in the saddle. The DOHC liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine uses a square bore & stroke of 67 mm x 66.8 mm for an optimum combination of strong low-end torque and excellent top-end power and performance. Not only does the assist slipper clutch help to prevent rear-wheel lockup on downshifts, it also reduces effort at the lever by almost half, helping to reduce rider fatigue particularly in city traffic or on long rides. The gear indicator and adjustable shift-up indicator make it even easier to use the smooth-shifting six-speed gearbox. The lightweight diamond-shaped steel frame was designed to allow a certain degree of yield, which enables it to better respond to changes in the road surface and to transmit just the right amount of feedback to the rider. For even better off-road performance and overall comfort, the front suspension features Showa 41mm Separate Function Fork Big Piston (SFF-BP) USD forks. The rear suspension provides more to compliment the front suspension. A single-tube rear shock helps ensure excellent suspension response and better heat dissipation. The lightweight cast aluminum wheels, large 19-inch front wheel and aggressive front and rear tires help to make the NX500 even better at handling rough surfaces and contribute to the bike’s excellent manoeuvrability. Powerful dual disc brakes with radial-mounted calipers up front and a single-piston caliper at the back are designed to provide strong but easily controlled stopping power – even in difficult conditions. The NX500’s long list of premium features now also includes brighter LEDs and PGM-FI settings to improve engine character with increased power to low-end torque.
